For those of you who aren’t familiar SABIT, please read below;

Sabit NYC is a New York based company which creates a fashionable fusion of Japanese street wear and American couture. This premium fashion denim and sportswear line was launched in 2005 under the stewardship of Japanese-born and former Marc Ecko Director of Outerwear Shoichi Amemiya.

The word Sabit means “the hook” or “the best part of a song” in Japanese, which is truly the reflection of Amemiya’s vision of the clothing line. Its logo is represented by the swallow bird, which Japanese deem as a sign of good luck. According to Amemiya, his inspiration for his pieces comes from his homeland of Japan. The line is also inspired by Tanoshinde a Japanese philosophy meaning “enjoy”. True enough, its apparel has mirrored the fresh spirit of optimism.

The new Dior Chiffre Rouge T01 watch can show the time in eight different cities around the world. You’ll need to do the math for the rest. I wonder if it was even worth doing a world time watch without at least 24 different timezones?

The watch is 42mm wide in steel, and has a black ceramic bezel (which is nice). The look of the steel with black is carried over on the back of the watch where the sapphire exhibition caseback window has a ring of black around it to match the look of the watch case. Inside the watch is an automatic Calibre Dior 8 Fuseaux Horaires (8 timezones), which is likely a base ETA, and was specially developed for Dior. The watch tells the time, and has a day/night indicator (which is part of the hour hand). To be honest, I am not 100% sure how time is told in the eight timezones. The dial seems to have a subsidiary hour hand, while the main dial is used for the minutes and seconds. The hour hands looks to be operating on a 24 hour scale, and via some simple addition and subtraction, you can tell the time for the various reference cities. It looks interesting enough, but also feels like a toy that comes out of an extremely expensive box of cereal (“Real Golden Nuggets!”). Dior will be making just 100 pieces in this limited edition set of Chiffre Rouge T01 watches.

Martin Margiela’s accessory line is probably the most interesting collection (and most fun) out of all the fashion houses out there. One piece that stuck out from their latest line are their Wayfarer-shaped Magnifying Glasses ($75) which are one half eye loupe and the other a playful optical illusion

This Piaget Polo 45 skeletonized watch is a definitely must have for the collection if you are an avid watch collector like myself.

Under the dials is the in-house made Piaget movement with perlage polish. The the dials retain all the necessary markers and numerals, but are otherwise skeletonzied. A liberal amount of red is used adding to the sporty feel of the watch. Many people feel that the Piaget Polo FortyFive watch collection was a mistake to begin with. Being overpriced and under-styled. Others really liked it though – and for those people I think these skeletonized models will be a hit.
Piaget uses a large red circle over the date window, which is a nice touch. I don’t think these watches have the typical Piaget polish that we are used to, but that isn’t really what the Polo FortyFive collection is all about. While the hour markers do a good job of popping out on the dial, the hands need a lot of improvement to be legible enough. I understand that these skeletonized Polo FortyFive watches are going to be commercially available but in limited amounts. Look for them sometime this year at a price that is likely a slight premium over the standard Piaget Polo FortyFive automatic or chronograph models.

The partnership between Porsche Design and Adidas brings to our attention their latest luxury sportswear collection, which is not quite true to the hot summer feeling most of us have these day. In fact, the Porsche Design Sport Fall/Winter 2010 collection is designed to offer both performance and elegance during cold days.
Collection categories includeDriving, Golf, Running/Fitness, Tennis, and Water/Snow, while items are campaigned with the help of two sports icons: celebrated football manager José Mourinho and six-time Grand Slam champion Stefan Edberg.

Highlights include the Bounce:S2 package, the GORE Comfort Mapping Jacket II and Pant and the Winter Drive shoe. The Bounce:S2 range includes features such as weatherproof exteriors and soft interiors, as well as a mesh “exoskeleton” inspired by the Bounce:S running shoe.
